Fred McEldon Brumfield

Fred McEldon Brumfield, 96, of Luray, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Page Memorial Hospital.

He was born on January 29, 1927, in Shreveport, LA, and was a son of the late Alva E. Brumfield and Florence K. Seigohn Brumfield.

Fred worked for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for 20 years.

On December 28, 1947, Fred married Mary Ella Brown Brumfield, who died on September 24, 2022.

He is survived by a son, David Brumfield of Gainesville; two daughters, Barbara Brumfield of Charlotte, NC, and Laura Norris of Pulaski; and five grandchildren, Danielle, Michael, Sam, Jared and Shelby. He was preceded in death by a son, Glen Edwin Brumfield.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 28, at the Bradley Funeral Home by the Rev. Erich Bennett, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m.
