Ernest "Bud" Eugene Campbell, Sr., 65, of Stanley, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2020, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
He was born on Aug. 28, 1954, in War, W.Va., and was a son of the late Elmer Edward Campbell and Mozetta Helen Campbell.
Ernest owned and operated E.C. Builders, retiring in 2010.
On July 7, 1972, he married Mary Elizabeth Cubbage Campbell, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Stephanie Campbell, and Carrie Dean and husband Shawn, all of Stanley; a son, Ernie Campbell and wife Leyna of Harrisonburg; three brothers, Jack T. Campbell and Robert W. Campbell, both of Stanley, and Kenneth Campbell of Washington; three sisters, Stella “Louabell” Campbell of Stanley, Betty Homsey of Maryland, and Irene F. Jenkins of Stanley; two granddaughters, Ariel Roe and Hannah Campbell; and three grandsons, Matthew Campbell, Easton Damico and Kelton Damico. He was preceded in death by seven sisters, Annette E. Alger, Marie M. Bailey, Brenda L. Breeden, Edith E. Adams, Patricia "Patsy" McCoy, Florence Campbell and Dorothy Campbell; and three brothers, Elmer Edward Campbell Jr., Arthur Campbell and Georgie Campbell.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Stanley New Hope Pentecostal Church by Pastor Randy Miller.
