Ellen Marie (Painter) Koontz

Ellen Marie Koontz, 86, of Stanley, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Skyview Springs Nursing and Rehab in Luray.

She was born on July 10, 1938, in Stanley and was a daughter of the late Elvin Lee Painter and Evelyn Henderson Painter.

Ellen was a member of the Stanley Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Her husband, William R. Koontz, preceded her in death.

Ellen is survived by a son, Ronald Lee Campbell of Stanley; a brother, Gary Saylor of Luray; a sister, Debbie Byrd of Shenandoah; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, April Lynn Koontz; and a brother, Randall Saylor.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, April 28, at the Bradley Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, at the Stanley Advent Cemetery by Pastor Robert Banks.
