Elinor (Veach) Harlow

Elinor Ruth Harlow (née Veach) of Luray, Virginia, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.

Elinor was born on July 7, 1931, in Luray, the daughter of Charles Franklin Veach and Dorothy Pearl Veach, and was raised in Washington, D.C. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Teel Harlow Jr., and her oldest daughter, Brenda Harlow, both of Luray.

In 1956, Elinor graduated from Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. On August 18 of that year, she married her husband, Bernard.

For many years Elinor was an elementary school teacher in various Christian schools in Northern Virginia. She retired with her husband to Luray in 1982. 

She lived a full life, was tireless in her devotion to her family, and was known for her keen sense of humor.

Elinor is survived by two sons, Paul Harlow of McGaheysville, Va., and Daniel Harlow of Grand Rapids, Mich.; two daughters, Sarah Stein of Luray, and Martha Wagenhorst of Chesterfield, Va.; her sister, Mary Stahl of Luray; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
