Dorothy Lena Johnson, 89, of Luray, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Page Memorial Hospital.
She was born on October 24, 1935, in Luray and was a daughter of the late Willie M. Williams Sr. and Dorothy Goldie Carter Williams.
Dorothy retired from Wrangler as a seamstress, with 37 years of service.
On March 9, 1957, she married Thomas Edward Johnson, who died on February 1, 2009.
Dorothy is survived by a son T. "Doobie" Johnson and wife K. Tammy Johnson of Grottoes; six sisters, Elder Peggy Brooks of Luray, and Frances Moyer, Viola Pearson, Catherine Drew, Betty Williams, and Evangelist Helen Stapp and husband Pastor James Stapp Jr., all of Erie, PA; a brother, Carl Williams of Erie, PA; two grandchildren, Brittany D. Johnson and Derick T. Johnson, both of Grottoes; and three great-grandchildren, Aaliyah, Aiyanna and Alena Frye, all of Grottoes. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Ruth Ann Williams, Mildred Jean Williams, Janas Burton, Dora Goins and Barbara Rieves; and three brothers, James Stewart Williams, Willie Williams and Clyde Williams.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 21, at the Bradley Funeral Home by Elder Peggy Brooks and Pastor Archie Webster, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 12 noon - 1 p.m.
Burial will be in the Veney/Johnson Family Cemetery in Luray.
