Denver Dovel Obituary

Denver Lee Dovel, 87, of Stanley, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Page Memorial Hospital. 

He was born on September 5, 1937, in Page County and was a son of the late Elmer Rosser Dovel and Ruby Agnes Leake Dovel.

Denver had worked as an installer for Sullivan Plumbing and Heating, retiring with 30 years of service. He was a member of the Stanley United Methodist Church.

On April 11, 1959, he married Elaine G. Foltz Dovel, who died on February 7, 2011.

Denver is survived by a son, Denver Gregory Dovel and wife Judy of Stanley; a daughter, Loretta Faye Bradley and husband Dwayne of Luray; one granddaughter, Emily Ann Bradley; two step grandchildren, Stacey Cash and Jason Baker; two step great-grandchildren, Tyler Cash and Shadely Baker; and one step great-great-grandchild, Scarlett Cash. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Elmer Dovel; and three sisters, H. Regatta Gochenour, Allene Dovel and Peggy Loy.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, March 17, at the Bradley Funeral Home, and anytime at Gregory's home at 2702 Pine Grove Rd., Stanley.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, at the Leake’s Chapel Cemetery in Stanley by the Rev. Marty Doss.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Stanley United Methodist Church.
