Clarence William "Scotty" McCoy Jr., 72, of Stanley, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
He was born on October 24, 1952, in Stanley and was a son of the late Clarence William McCoy Sr. and Agnes Pearl Campbell McCoy.
Scotty was a member of the Stanley New Hope Pentecostal Church.
On June 13, 1977, he married Janet Campbell McCoy, who survives.
In addition to his wife, Scotty is survived by four sons, Ricky Campbell, Anthony Scott McCoy and wife April, and Brian Samuels, all of Stanley, and Keith Samuels of Grottoes; two daughters, Kristen Campbell and Robin Samuels, both of Stanley; three sisters, Doris Jean Campbell, Mary Jane Campbell and Joyce Marie Tharp, all of Stanley; and seven grandchildren, Lindsay Campbell, Anna McCoy, A.J. McCoy, Brennan Good, Lukas Good, Brooklyn Shifflett and "Little Ricky" Campbell. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis McCoy; and a sister, Jo Ann Campbell.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, at the Stanley New Hope Pentecostal Church.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 9, at the church by Pastor Randy Miller. Burial will be in the Calvary Independent Brethren Cemetery in Stanley.
