Chester Dale Bolyard Sr.

Chester Dale Bolyard Sr., 85, of Stanley, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024.

He was born on August 23, 1938, in Galloway, WV, and was a son of the late Orville Dayton Bolyard and Ada Pearl Hoffman Schooley.

On July 27, 1971, Chester married Shirley Shenk Bolyard, who survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Ioleta Sisson of Stanley; two sisters, Helen Kraft of Grafton, WV, and Betty Criss of Thornton, WV; a brother, Carson Bolyard of Missouri; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Chester D. Bolyard Jr. and Dayton Bolyard; four brothers, George Bolyard, Gene Bolyard, John Bolyard and Dewey Schooley; and two sisters, Ada Belle Beavers and Dorothy Schooley.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 14, at the Antioch Independent Bible Church in Luray.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, at the church.
