Charles David Franklin "Frankie" Cave, 85, of Luray, died on Friday, July 23, 2021.
He was born on Dec. 27, 1935, in Luray and was a son of the late Luther William Cave and Gernie Lee Thomas Cave.
Mr. Cave had worked at the Virginia Oak Tannery and was a veteran of the United States Army.
On Sept. 15, 1959, he married Geraldine Mae Stanley Cave, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by a daughter, Brenda Thacker of Luray; four sons, Charles, Jesse Franklin and Frankie "Booger" Cave, all of Luray, and Vance Cave of Front Royal; two sisters, Dorothy Marie Cave of Luray, and Judy P. Jenkins of Stanley; a brother, Luther W. "Junior" Cave of Luray; seven grandchildren Tara Cave, Christopher Hill, Justin Cave, Emily Penwell, Samantha Cave Holly Kite and Haley Wyatt; and 6 great-grandchildren Hailey Higgs, Todd TJ Higgs, Brennan Hill, Lilly Hill, Kyleigh Cave and Eleanor Penwell 4 step grandchildren Ava Kite, Allie Kite, Adalynn Kite and Amelia Kite and his care Giver Brenda Hamilton . He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Lee "Bobby" and Arthur Wayne Cave; and four sisters, Thelma Jean Breeden, Nettie Arlene Cave, Catherine C. Turner and Louise V. Ellis.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 26, at the Bradley Funeral Home by Pastor Andy Seastrom. Burial will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery in Luray.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 25, at the funeral home.
