Charles Benton Sours, 41, of Luray, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020, at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
He was born on October 25, 1979, in Woodstock to Cheryl J. Sours of Luray and the late Charles William Sours. He is the stepson of Harlen R. Sours of Luray.
Charles was an investigator with the Page County Sheriff's Department, where he was employed for the past 20 years.
Charles was a dedicated servant to the community and in his position as a law enforcement officer. He enjoyed collaborating with his law enforcement family and was always up for a challenge. Charles was a member of the Morning Star Lutheran Church in Luray. On October 16, 1999, he married Cindy Gregory Sours, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his mother, stepfather and his wife are two sons, Jacob Charles Sours and Travis William Sours, both of Luray; a sister, Carolyn Richards of Luray; and a stepbrother, Duane Sours of Luray. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at the VFW Comer-Jones Post 621 in Luray by Pastor Jeff Marble. Burial will follow in the Morning Star Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 27, 2020, at the Bradley Funeral Home.
