Carveth William Gooch, 74, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2024, at his home in Luray, Virginia, where he built a life filled with purpose.
Born on April 9, 1950, to Elizabeth Brubaker Gooch and Donald Willis Gooch, Carveth was raised in Falls Church, Virginia. He married the love of his life, Connie Hensley Gooch, in 1980.
After a 31-year career with Lucent Technologies, Carveth turned to farming, a life-long dream. He dedicated himself to his beloved wife, their dogs and the farm, which brought him immense joy and fulfillment.
Carveth is survived by his wife, Connie; his nephew, Scott Brill (Sarah); nieces Hannah Walker (Craig) and Madelyn Hawkins; great-nieces Sophie Brill and Braylee Walker; his goddaughter, Kara VanDenburgh (Will) and their sons, Quin and Easton; and his siblings, Charles Gooch of Jena, Louisiana, and Nancy Gooch Brill of Richmond, Virginia.
A host of close family members, friends and neighbors will greatly miss his warmth, wisdom and steady presence.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
