Carolyn Darlene (Price) Griffith

Carolyn Darlene Griffith, 77, of Luray, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025.

She was born on October 8, 1947, in Luray and was a daughter of the late Elvin Ray Price and Hazel M. Williams Price.

Carolyn retired from the Commonwealth of Virginia, having worked 15 years each with the Page County Health Department and the Shenandoah Regional Microbiological Laboratory (Regional State Lab) as a medical secretary for each. She was a member of the Morning Star Lutheran Church in Luray.

On October 25, 1965, Carolyn married Dwight Thomas Griffith, who died on October 16, 2022.

She is survived by two sons, James A. Griffith and companion Donna McEathron, and Jason Griffith and wife Carol, all of Luray; a sister, Elvena R. Price of Luray; 10 grandchildren, James Alan Griffith II, Karalynn Nicole Griffith, Jason Page Griffith, Tara Elizabeth Eavey, Jacob Tazwell Griffith, Dwight Douglas Griffith, Chance Ryan Griffith, Michael Christian Kling, Melissa Dawn Mitchell and Nathan Maverick Kling; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Dwight Wayne Griffith; and two grandchildren, Morgan Denise Griffith and Marissa Danielle Griffith. 

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, at the Morning Star Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jeffrey D. Marble, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be in the Morning Star Cemetery.
