Betty Lou Irene Scadden

Betty Lou Irene Scadden, 91, of Luray, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

She was born on January 13, 1934, in Rochester, MN, and was a daughter of the late Arthur Hutchens and Kathleen Fox Hutchens.

Betty was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Luray.

On February 6, 1954, Betty married Minier John Scadden, who died on August 26, 2016.

Betty is survived by a son, David M. Scadden and wife Valerie of Luray; a daughter, Korrina Boots and husband Richard of Grass Valley, CA; a son-in-law, Martin Boss of Tennessee; two brothers, Donnie Hutchens of Minnesota, and Duane Hutchens of Arizona; 12 grandchildren, John Paul, Michelle, Joseph, Kevin, Alexandria, Greg, Rachel, Mary, Emily, Max, Gabby and Hannah; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Boss; a brother, Arthur Hutchens; and a sister, Ardith Kohnert.

Mass will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 24, at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church by Father Edwin Perez.
