Bessie M. Newland
Bessie Mae Newland, 78, of Luray, died on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2020.
She was born on April 25, 1942, in Charlottesville and was a daughter of the late James Albert Cubbage and Mamie Cubbage.
On Nov. 30, 1988, she married Russell Dean Newland, who survives.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Gerald and Timmothy Dodson; a brother, Eric Cubbage of Stanley; two grandchildren;Gerald Dodson Jr front royal and Krystal Dodson luray and one great-grandchild Rayann Sisk Luray.. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Mae Lancaster and Alda Alger; and three brothers, James, Eugene and Leonard Cubbage.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at the Bradley Funeral Home by Evangelist Doug Gochenour. Burial will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery in Luray.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the funeral home.
