Barbara Ellen (Jenkins) Wood

Barbara Ellen Wood, 83, of Luray, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Page Memorial Hospital.

She was born on March 28, 1942, in Luray and was a daughter of the late Buford Franklin Jenkins Sr. and Emily Gertrude Middleton Jenkins.

On June 20, 1964, Barbara married Eugene C. "Gene" Wood, who died on April 18, 2006.

She is survived by four daughters, Glenda M. Wood, Penny Pettit and husband Jason, Pam K. Alger and husband Scott, and Kim S. Wood, all of Luray; four sons, Jimmy E. Wood and wife Stacey of Hinton, and Victor Wood and wife Jackie, Michael Wood and wife Brandy, and Derek Wood, all of Luray; two brothers, Leonard F. Jenkins of Luray, and Buford F. Jenkins of Front Royal; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, George Hunter Jenkins; and a sister, Gloria Ann Gertrude Jenkins.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, December 19, at the Bradley Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 20, at the funeral home by her son-in-law, Jason Pettit. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Luray.
