Barbara Ernest Baldwin, 92, of Luray, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Page Memorial Hospital.
She was born on September 24, 1933, in College Park, MD, and was a daughter of the late James Thomas Walker and Annilee Crosby Walker.
Barbara had worked 8 years as a bus driver for Fairfax Public Schools and was a member of the Rileyville Baptist Church. She enjoyed the Page County Senior Center and visiting Cooter's in Luray on the weekends.
Barbara loved baking, especially cakes for all occasions, and also held cake decorating classes.
Her first husband, Charles Hubert Ernest, preceded her in death.
On January 4, 1992, she married Daniel Matthew Baldwin, who died on August 12, 2005.
Barbara is survived by four sons, Lawrence James Ernest (Ellen), Donald William Ernest (Debra), James Robert Ernest (Lisa), and Joseph William Ernest (Colleen); a stepson, John M. Baldwin (Rhonda); a stepdaughter, Joan M. Harris (Tim); a sister, Mary Lou Ballerino; a step daughter-in-law, Brenda Baldwin; 29 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Lisa Johnson; a stepson, James M. Baldwin; and a brother, Roger Lee Alton.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, at the Rileyville Baptist Church by the Rev. Dan Ellis, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m.
