Obituary
Annie Pearle Housden, 98, of Luray, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Skyview Springs Nursing and Rehab.
She was born on July 14, 1924, in Luray and was a daughter of the late James Luther Hoak and Annie Lee Miller Hoak.
Annie was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church.
On August 31, 1948, she married Wardell Sylvester Housden, who died on November 8, 2013.
Annie is survived by two daughters, Sandra Anne Sigmon and husband Mike of Roanoke, and Sharon Lange of Oxford, Ala.; a son, Gary Sylvester Housden of Luray; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Katherine Huffman, Dover Bishop and Helen Bradford; and five brothers, Isaac and Paul Hoak, and Albert, Rufus and Claude Smith.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Luray by the Rev. Jeffrey D. Marble.
