Annemarie (Potter) Redman

Annemarie Redman, 60, of Spotsylvania, died on Sunday, March 30, 2025.

She was born on July 28, 1964, in Alexandria and was the daughter of the late Artemas Crozet Potter and Dorothy Virginia Sanborn Potter.

Annemarie was born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia, as the last child of 7. She attended Mt. Eagle Elementary School and then Hayfield Secondary School, graduating in 1982.

While attending high school, she met the love of her life and it was truely "love at first site" a "match made in heaven". Annemarie and Tim began dating when she was 14 and he was 17. On April 8, 1982, Annemarie married Timothy Redman, and they continued an uninterupted journey of love and togetherness for the next 46+ years never waivering in their love for each other.

Annemarie wore many hats during her lifetime, she was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother and grandmother (Nana). She performed all these duties with enthusiam and heart. She especially loved her grandchildren and would go out of the way to do anything for them and be with them. 

She was a devoted military wife for more than 22 years (1982-2004), supporting her husband and raising her two daughters, many times alone during her husband's many deployments. During this period, she lived in the Republic of the Phillipines, Louisianna, Germany, Colorado and Virginia. Her children were her world and she devoted many years ensuring they were properly raised.

During her time in Germany, she attended various childcare classes and became a certified childcare provider and opened her own childcare business. During her time in Colorado, she owned and operated a very successful house cleaning business that cleaned vacated base housing units as Airman were reassigned earning Gold Star status and contributed directly to a better life financially for the family.

Once her military wife duties were over, she settled into the country life on a 7-acre lot back in the woods in Spotsylvania County, VA. This was the perfect setting for her as she was an avid animal lover and this gave her the opportunity to finally own and raise many animals. She started a ferret rescue and santuary for unwanted and abused ferrets and sugar gliders and ended up fostering 32 ferrets and 10 sugar gliders at the same time while raising 6 cats and 8 dogs over the next 20+ years. She would rescue and care for any animal be it reptile, mammal and sometimes insect.

Annemarie enjoyed motorcycle riding with her husband from the time she was married and would take short rides, day rides and long overnight rides along with her husband and friends. She enjoyed motorcycling so much she took the Virginia motorcycle driving course and obtained her own motorcycle driver's license and rode her own for awhile before realizing she'd rather be closer to her husband, returning as the backseat rider with Tim.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Cristin Marie Redman and Amber Nichole Redman, both of Spotsylvania; two brothers, David Potter of Woodbridge, and Monroe Potter of Unionville; a sister, Dorothy Nichols of Alexandria; and four grandchildren, Hailey Nichole Boyd, Angela Renee Boyd, Martiann Marie Redman and Steven Scott Dudley Jr. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Artie Potter and Charlie Potter; and a sister, Mary Potter.

Annemarie will be missed by those who loved her and remembered through the many acts of of love and kindness she showed to so many.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8, at the Bradley Funeral Home by Pastor Pearl Hartman, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be in the Beahm's Chapel Cemetery in Luray.
