Alfred "Joey" Buynar

Alfred Joesph “Joey” Buynar, 60, passed away on September 1, 2025. 

Joey was born on November 1, 1964 and was the son of the late Alfred “Al” Buynar and Agnes “June” Buynar. 

He leaves behind the love of his life Tammy Shortnacy Buynar; five children Brandy Wood and spouse Michael Wood, Jessica Buynar and spouse Greg Reed, Chalsea Atkinson and spouse Logan Atkinson, Josh Buynar and spouse Jessica Supples and Brooke Buynar. Two bonus children Lauren and Morgan. Twelve grandchildren Savannah, Hannah, Annah, Brianna, Lydia, Shyannah, Lainey, Bristol, Brinsley, Braylon, Blaire and Kaiah. Four bonus grandchildren Margot, Mary Allen, Asher and Rylee. A sister in law Cinda Bell and spouse Chad Pepper, Mother in law Joyce Osborne who he always referred to as Ms. Osborne and a sister Dixie Haggard. 

He is preceded in death by a sister Brenda Gallegos and father in law Charles Osborne.

Joey spent the last 12 years of his life doing what he loved traveling to shows, buying/selling antiques. He enjoyed taking boat rides on the lake where he lived. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids visiting in the summer on the lake, taking boat rides, fishing, trips to Panama City and natural water holes. He had a special love for his dog Georgiana who traveled with him everywhere. It didn’t matter where he went Joey always found someone to talk to and had friends from all over; Texas, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and of course Virginia. 

A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, Va., by special friend and Evangelist Doug Gochenour.
