Mitchell Grimsley Obituary
Mitchell Lee Grimsley, 89, of Luray, died on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Winchester Medical Center.
He was born on April 12, 1930, in Shenandoah and was a son of the late Sibert Grimsley and Grace Comer Grimsley.
Mr. Grimsley had worked for Shenandoah National Park for 30 years in the maintenance department. He was an Army veteran and a member of the Beth Eden Lutheran Church.
On Aug. 13, 1962, he married Nina Irene Hoak Grimsley, who died on June 15, 2017.
He is survived by four sisters, Phyllis Robertson, Virginia Shifflett, Elenore Purdham and Frances Shifflett, all of Shenandoah. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Milton, Melvin, Marvin, Macon and Franklin Grimsley.
A graveside service was conducted on Monday, May 13, at the Beahm’s Chapel Cemetery in Luray by the Rev. Jeffrey D. Marble.
