Melissa Ann (Wendell) Richards

Melissa Ann Richards, 54, of Luray, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019.

She was born on Aug. 15, 1964, in Haverhill, Mass., and was a daughter of Karen Colby Wendell of Haverhill, Mass., and the late Leon Wendell.

Melissa was a member of the Calvary Independent Brethren Church in Stanley.

On Nov. 9, 1999, she married James Richards, who survives.

Surviving in addition to her mother and her husband are two sons, Nicholas Wayne Richards and wife Caroline of Gainesville, and Christopher Jenkins of Luray; a daughter, Kellie Jenkins of Winchester; a brother, James Leon Wendell of Haverhill, Mass.; a sister, Kristen Joy Hayes of Hudson, N.H.; and two granddaughters, Avery June Richards of Gainesville, and Iris Bell Huffer of Winchester.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, at the Calvary Independent Brethren Church by the Rev. Charles Turner. Burial will in the Calvary Independent Brethren Cemetery.
