Beverly Joyce (Thomas) Courtney

Beverly Joyce Courtney, 79, of Stanley, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Skyview Springs Nursing and Rehab.

She was born on April 5, 1945, in Luray and was a daughter of the late Mark Milton Thomas and Sarah Blanche Offenbacker Thomas.

On May 8, 1968, Beverly married Archie William Courtney, who died on January 24, 2021.

She is survived by a sister, Delores Judd of Luray; two grandchildren, Amy Courtney Stanley and husband Joseph, and Jeff Courtney and wife Cassie, all of Stanley; two great-grandchildren; and a stepson, James William Courtney and wife Darla, of Stanley. She was preceded in death by a son, Terry Courtney; a sister, Shelva Cubbage; three brothers, Kenneth Thomas, Leonard Thomas and Daniel Thomas; and a grandson, Keith Courtney.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22, at the Bradley Funeral Home by Evangelist Earl E. Painter, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be in the Thomas Family Cemetery on Tanner's Ridge in Stanley.
